I also just purchased a glock 19. I have nothing but good things to say thus far. I like how the weapon feels in my hand and mostly the way it shoots. I have been doing some reading and a bit of shooting as well. From my experience (as I shot the low grade range ammo), Federal makes a full metal jacket flat point that is good for target shooting. As for personal defense ammo, Federal Hydra-Shok JHP 135 grain (Also manufactured in 124 grain and 147 grain). This round offers a solid muzzle velocity (1026 at 25 yards) and an average range of 25 yards, it offers solid stopping power, range and mushroom action on impact. God forbid you ever have to use them, this is the round I recommend for defense. Thoughts?
As for accessories, you could go with trijicon night sights, as well as what is recommended above. I suppose I have not really thought of purchasing any accessories other than the night sights so I cannot speak intelligently on that factor.
